Chinese Construction Workers in Derby Style Street Clash
Northern China police said that an argument among workers resulted in a derby-style clash of construction machinery. The clash involved multiple bulldozers on the streets of Xintang County, in the northern province of Hebei, China. Bulldozers can be seen crashing into each other, while some drivers of these construction machinery used the buckets to overturn their rivals. The street fight resulted in bulldozers being toppled, however, the drivers were able to flee their heavy machinery without being hurt. The incident is currently being investigated by the local authorities. It is said that China’s construction sector has fallen so drastically, that with growth down by two-thirds from a decade-ago high, the situation is forcing construction companies to compete viciously for contracts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have you ever heard of maxi skirts for cars? This is The Chinese Way of Protecting Their Cars From Rat Infestation The city of Nanning, China is experiencing a rat infestation situation which calls for desperate measures. The residents have come up with this great idea that bamboo mat covering will prevent rats from entering their cars! Due to increasing number of incidents where rats are found inside the vehicles and also chewing at the wires under the hoods, the residents of a town in China have come up with an unusual solution. The residents of Nanning, are putting wraparound shields dubbed as ‘car maxi skirts’ around their cars. Some are made from fabric and chicken wire, and some are from bamboo. The residents are saying that there are many rats in the area...they are hoping the makeshift maxi will make the rats spare their cars. It can also prevent small children from scratching them...And the chicken wire and the bamboo will not...Really??? Sadly though, the makeshift creations are no match for the rats. One woman pointed at a rat-sized hole in one car skirt. Now, if the rats can chew thru wires then they can definitely chew thru the make-shift bamboo protective shield. Is this an idea that was thought of by a neighbor and other neighbors just ran with the idea? We lived in Manhattan, NY. This place has a rat infestation where you can see rats walking along the hudson and harlem rivers. We did not have our car attacked by rats. Possible solution...get a cat! Or simply exterminate the neighborhood ...hmmmm??? But apparently cars are very hard to come by in China, and licenses are difficult to obtain. Mongolian coaches strip in front of judges to protest bronze-medal controversy So it seems that wrestling which was one the final events in the 2016 Olympics created quite a memorable moment, and possibly one of the best moments of the Rio Summer Olympic Games. In one of the final events, Mongolian wrestler Ganzorigiin Mandakhnaran was seconds away from winning the 65kg freestyle bronze medal match when he and his coaches began prematurely celebrating his victory by running around the ring with their country’s flag. Up until that time, it appeared that Mandakhnaran had won the match 7-6, right but, while the Mongolian team was celebrating in the ring, the judges awarded the winning penalty point to Uzbekistan’s Ikhtiyor Navruzov. Interestingly, it wasn’t so much the celebration that cost Mongolia the bronze medal, but the act of “failing to engage,” which is known in wrestling as passivity, which automatically awarded a point in favour of the opponent. ...and since wrestling cannot end in a tie, the winner is determined by the last person who is awarded a point. So instead of winning 7-6, Mandakhnaran lost 8-7. The two Mongolian coaches tried to challenge the call, but when the judges denied them, they started ripping their clothes off in protest of the call. One coach stripped all the way down to his underwear, while the other just removed his shirt — and filed an official protest by throwing a stuffed animal towards the judges. They also lost that protest which cost them another point. The Mongolian coaches were then escorted out of the venue by Olympic officials. |
